The existing glazed rooflights were failing in many places. The client only had a short term lease and wanted a cost effective repair. The glass was in a very poor condition and had be spray foamed already which would have made replacing it very difficult and the cost of scaffold and netting inside was a significant cost to the project so we recommended over sheeting. We over sheeted using a treated timber batten and plastisol coated Quedron RW1000 roof sheets and supa safe Filon rooflights were over laid because they were in a single span situation (they proved to be very robust and relatively easy to install). A plygene gutter liner was fitted to the valley gutter and several roof sheet repairs were carried out on the adjacent roof slope using a matching profile over lay GRP sheet. The works were undertaken whilst the company traded with day specific areas being cordoned off, temporary safety netting was installed throughout as a fall arrest measure and scaffold was used as edge protection.
